Police say it involved three vehicles near Vineland yesterday afternoon
Tragedy for the family of a 10-year-old boy from Beamsville.
Provincial police say he was killed after a three vehicle crash on the QEW near Tufford Road in Vineland yesterday afternoon.
Sergeant Kerry Schmidt tells us a car driven by a 31-year-old Mississauga woman ran into the back of a white SUV, driven by a 44-year-old Beamsville woman with two boys in the back seat.
"The roads were dry, the sun was signing, there was some congestion ahead due to likely afternoon rush hour traffic. This is certainly a very tragic investigation, and our hearts go out to the family members and loved ones of this 10-year-old boy," he says.
He adds the SUV was pushed into a third vehicle, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Milton.
"Paramedics and fire were able to extricate one of the 10-year old boys that were in the back of that white SUV, he was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and was pronounced deceased in hospital around 9 o'clock last night," he says.
Police add the woman in the first vehicle wasn't hurt, while the two women driving the other vehicles and the other boy suffered minor injuries.
No word of any charges.
