Police say the suspects stole items from over 20 cars in the St. Catharines area
Two men from St. Catharines are facing charges after over 20 vehicles were broken into and items stolen last month.
Police say suspects broke windows of cars parked in the Ontario and Scott Street area, with the latest smashed window on Tuesday, on a vehicle at a car dealership on Ontario Street.
Two suspects were identified.
Police also say on Tuesday, the suspects showed up at a Niagara Falls police station on an unrelated matter, and were arrested.
Police found they had stolen property with them, and in their car, and a further search of a house in the Ontario and Carlton Street area of St. Catharines turned up more stolen property.
Richard William Ford, 47-years old, and Jake Walter Fisher, 39-years old, both face 8 counts of theft under $5,000, and 9 counts of mischief under $5,000. Fisher is also looking at breaking a probation order. Both appeared for a bail hearing yesterday.
