The province is distributing rabies vaccine baits in several regions, including Niagara
The province is continuing its vaccine bait drop program in order to prevent raccoon strain rabies.
From June 19th until the end of September, the baits will be distributed in several areas, including Niagara, Hamilton, Haldimand and Brant.
Baiting will focus on wildlife habitat like bushes, ravines and green spaces.
They will not be distributed in areas where children could be nearby.
The province says the baits will help to immunize raccoons, skunks and foxes that eat them.
Since 2015, the ministry has distributed over 8 million vaccine baits.
