Police say the victim has been hospitalized with possible life-threatening injuries.
The NRP is investigating after a child was hit by a car in St. Catharines.
Constable Phil Gavin tells us the child was hit just after 11:00 a.m. in the area of Glenridge Avenue and Belton Blvd.
Niagara EMS transported the child to an out of region hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.
The NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit have been called to the scene.
The investigation is in the early stages.
Glenridge is closed at Belton (Southridge entrance) and Glen Morris, and there is no word yet on when the road will re-open.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
