The DSBN has decided to launch a Summer Wellness Line to support students and parents over the next few months.
They will be able to speak with a mental health professional over the phone to help them deal with COVID-19 related stress over the summer.
School-based social work support will also be able to continue through to September.
The support line will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Students have to be over the age of 16 to call in.
Anyone in a crisis situation should contact Kids Help Phone (1-800-668-6868), the Pathstone Mental Health Crisis Support Line (1-800-263-4944) or COAST Niagara (1-866-550-5205.)
Kids Help Phone is for children, the Pathstone crisis line is for youth and parents and COAST Niagara is for adults over the age of 16.
