Police asking everyone avoid the area
A child is dead after a tragic accident at a St. Catharines aquatic centre today.
Police say it happened after the child was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of the centre at the corner of Carlton and Niagara Streets.
The family has been notified, and the driver of the vehicle remains at the scene.
Police are asking everyone to avoid the area, and if you must pick someone up, use the far east end of the lot, the west end and surrounding area will be closed for several hours.
